I joined the Moodboard Girls this month to create layout based on a Christmas and wintery moodboard!
A few of the photos had non-traditional colors and stars which immediately jumped out and spoke to me. I'm all about the pinks and blues paired with reds and greens as well as repeating shapes! #gimmealltheshapesandcolors.
I will show you how to make these origami stars in my YouTube process video below, but I originally learned how to make them from this blog post.

It was a fun challenge to use my Turn the Page collection with Pink Paislee which is not Christmas-themed at all to create this Christmas page! I started by making the origami stars in all my favorite colors that I thought could pass for Christmas colors. The papers I used to make the stars ranged from 7"- 4.5" square I believe. The smaller the square the harder it will be to fold if you're using double-sided patterned paper.
Once all of the stars were folded I placed them onto the B-side of Paper 05 which has ombre falling stars which remind me of falling snow. I made a chain link stitch from the top edge down to every star in a matching color of thread to look like dangling ornaments. Next I die cut my Christmas Village cut file from textured white cardstock and stitched it across the top of a torn textured white cardstock piece that looks like a hill of snow. I stitched around the other sides of the white cardstock for more texture. Then came a cute photo of Fox and Jane sitting on Santa's lap. Since I had a star theme going on I added a star Pennant Paper Clip, Ephemera Die Cut stars, and a row of stars from my 30-page #StickerBook. Underneath the photo I tucked a row of Chipboard Sticker butterflies which turn into colorful scallops!
The title is made from a few different elements including doing some typewriting on a little die cut and fussy cutting around a 2x2 Paper Pad sentiment. I wrote the journaling along the curve underneath the die cut village.
I hope you love this layout as much as I do and you're inspired to fold some origami stars! Once you start you won't be able to stop!
