Creativation 2018

Thursday, January 25, 2018

Last weekend I flew to Creativation in Phoenix, Arizona to (wo)man the Pink Paislee booth and it was a total blast! YIPPEE!!
Bye bye rainy Seattle, hello warm and sunny Phoenix!
We flew right over the Grand Canyon - it was sooooo cool! I haven't been there since I was like 3 so I don't remember it at all.
I dropped my bags off at the hotel then ubered straight to the convention center. The booth was already set up! I just added a few layouts and projects here and there.
EEPS!! There she is!! The entire Pick-Me-Up collection! It was my first time seeing some of the products in person like the 2x2 Paper Pads12x12 Paper Pad6x6 Paper PadFloral Transparency Paper, and Cut Apart Vellum Paper. Love it all!
I brought along a couple of my coptic books and newer mini albums.
In the other corner of the booth the Wild Child and brand new Confetti Wishes collections adorned the walls.
Across the way was Amy Tangerine's cute table!
Heidi Swapp describing her collections and products to the sales team before opening day.
Maggie Holmes getting her gorgeous booth ready.
These girls!! Enza from the Pink Paislee Design Team also came down from Seattle, Lorilei Murphy from my Silhouette Design Team came all the way from Calgary Canada, and Missy Whidden from my Paige Evans Design Team flew across the country from Florida to attend their very first Creativation and help me out in the booth! Meeting Lor and Missy in real life was so surreal!! (I've met Enza twice before this and of course she's the sweetest thing in real life too - so lucky we live close to each other!). Love love love these girls.
On the first day the booth was filled with visitors from opening until close. We took selfies and then I printed pics right then and there from my instax. These people are the reason behind my love of this hobby - the friendships and connections and shared interests are so real and bonding!

Here are the custom paperclips I made as SWAG for anyone who dropped by for a visit!
I also finally got to meet Cassie, my sales rep! We have exchanged soooo many emails - I'm sure I've been quite a pain in the butt trying to get product for my classes in time over the last few years! She's a peach and so gorgeous! And of course Vicki Boutin - she is the happiest, sweetest, nicest, FUNNIEST thing in the world. I want to be like her when I grow up :)
Vicki, Heidi, Kimberly from Hip Kit Club, and me!
For dinner we went with a bunch of friends all the way out to Scottsdale but after running around in the cold and rain trying to find a nice restaurant that would seat all 11 of us, I suggested Shake Shack and it turned out to be even more than perfect! Left to right: Meghann Andrew, Shimelle, Missy Whidden, Lorilei Murphy, Vicki Boutin, Catherine Tachdjian, Nicole Nowosad, me, Aly Dosdall, Jennifer Gallacher. Seriously, such great friends and oh so talented!
Squeezing in with Amy Tangerine, Dear Lizzy, Jen Hadfield, and the gals from Kimidori Shop in Spain!
I didn't even get a chance to walk around the floor since I went home a day early and I hardly took any more pictures than what you see here! But I can say that it was an amazing 48 hours being surrounded by all things scrappy!
Already counting down the days until next year!

  1. SO FUN!!! Your collections look AMAZING!! I live in Phoenix, and had one friend that came to Prima-venture and another that came to the Creativation, so I was downtown meeting both of them for dinner two weeks in a row! LOL! When we came down for the second time, I saw Heidi walking down the street! LOL! I said to hubby, 'Well, there's something I don't see everyday! Someone I actually know walking down the street!!' HA! :) I am hoping to make the show next year though! :)

  5. Wow! That looks like such a blast of awesome!! One day I will make it to Creativation...... even if I'm 98 and in a wheel chair! Haha. I need some of these new bright, colorful, happy collections in my life. It'll be a nice change from seeing white and gray all the time and there's still 3-4 months of it to go. So ready for summer (I'm always ready for summer, haha). Anyway, LOVE the pics you posted. Thanks for the happy boost! : )
