I finished one layout for the Studio Calico Expedition Scrapbook Kit Workshop and still had so much of the kit leftover that I couldn't help but make a second layout!
I pulled out the tickets from the packaging and set them all on my scrap table to check them out and that's how this layout got started. A quick and easy way to make a layout is placing small products in a faux grid surrounding a photo. But first I worked on the background - I chose the dark blue textured cardstock included in the kit. I splashed white acrylic paint and watercolors all across then let it dry. Next I adhered a photo and the tickets along with lots of other awesome things from the June kit like wood veneer, fabric tabs, chipboard pieces, and chipboard letters. I had a few stars leftover from my first layout so I also added those into the mix. Plus stamping and sequins! See, so much fun stuff! To add texture and interest and to attach things in place permanently I used my sewing machine to stitch across the fabric tabs, sequins, and stamped sentiments. Underneath the title I left a gap for journaling and I used a white pen for contrast - I think black would have blended right into the background. Something felt like it was missing so I trimmed thin wedges from the specialty paper and stitched them on the left and right sides. All finished! I hope you check out the Expedition Scrapbook Kit from Studio Calico!
