This is one of those layouts by Missy Whidden that immediately makes me want to run to my scrap space and use the same papers!
Hey, friends! Missy here with a new layout. Do you ever get inspired by a single sheet of patterned paper? I’ve had the Pick-Me-Up collection since January and after eyeballing Paper 24 the perfect idea popped into my head. These photos are of my silly daughter. She wriggled one of her arms out of her pajama top one morning. I found her standing in the front window like a store model with her “off-the-shoulder” outfit haha! She looked too cute, so I decided to use these shirts as a design element. I fussy cut several shirts out and arranged them into two clotheslines. I added a photo on both lines and machine stitched across the top. I left the threads loose and messy to accentuate the look of the shirts hanging.
I used dark blue cardstock as my base and I added lots of gold metallic paint down first. I smudged it with a palette knife and then did the same with some light blue & green paint. I added more layers with some gesso, more paint, and even some pink ink spray. I tucked in gold thread to enhance the pops of gold from the background. I embellished with bits and pieces from the Pick-Me-Up Puffy Stickers, Chipboard Stickers, and Rub-Ons in this area.
I overlapped the shirt sleeves and glued them together. I added dimension by adding adhesive foam under each shirt. I wanted little details on the shirts so I topped each one with either a Pick-Me-Up Chipboard Sticker or Puffy Sticker. I also used a few of the Oh My Heart Puffy Stickers. I pulled some banner pieces from the Pick-Me-Up Stickers as well.
I created my title in the center between the clotheslines using a fussy cut banner piece from Pick-Me-Up Paper 13. I used the Pick-Me-Up Mini Thickers for the actual title and tore a piece of the Pick-Me-Up Washi Tape Book right under that. I touched the area up with gold machine stitching.
This was a lot of fun to create! I hope you pulled some fun ideas to try on your next layout. Thanks for stopping by!
