Back when Pick-Me-Up first released I asked design team member Lorilei Murphy to create a layout using only patterned papers and boy did she knock if out of the park!
You can never underestimate the potential of a seemingly simple scalloped cut file! Say that five times fast :) I love Paige’s Scalloped Border Background cut file and I decided to make it the star of the show paired with Pick-Me-Up. I chose to pop the borders off of the pretty blues in Paper 14.
I added matching paint to the background in big bold strokes and added splatters of the same paint as well as Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine sprinkles. I stitched the scallops onto the blue paper strips for extra texture and then layered them over the painted background at random lengths and on a bit of an angle.
The strips created the perfect spots to tuck in tags and flowers. I fussy cut flowers from Paper 02 for layers and dimension. The "perfect pair" 3x4 card from Paper 01 actually has a pair of sneakers on it, but I covered that with flowers to suit my layout better.
I thought it would be fun to point out that I only used four pieces of patterned paper, some paint, and a piece of white cardstock! If you happen to be on a budget this collection really is versatile and you can create pretty pages from minimal supplies and of course Paige’s cut files can be used over and over!
