Rainbow Day Layout

Hey there! I have a new layout and process video to share today featuring the brand new Scrapbook.com Ink Pads and Jumbo Sponge Daubers!
First, here is a process video so you can see how this layout came together:

I started by die cutting my Pie Chart Heart cut file from white cardstock using a Silhouette Cameo 3 and then I used washi tape to tack it onto a smooth white cardstock background. I put all the inner pieces back in place as well as the outer heart to make sure no ink got on the background.

Remove one of the pie chart pieces and then use a Jumbo Sponge Dauber to pick up ink and dab it over the section. These are the colors of ink I used: Parisian Purple, Pink Flamingo, Havana Red, Carnival Pink, Butter Cream, Orange Cream, Ballet Slipper, Candy Shop Pink, Lantern Light, Guacamole, Caribbean, Ballgown Blue, and Oasis. Once finished inking one section, replace the cover/inside piece then remove the next piece and ink that one. So on and so forth until all 13 sections are inked. Remove the templates and admire your pretty work!

Then I added some hand stitching. I pierced holes every half centimeter around each section and found coordinating colors of thread. I did a chain link stitch for the ultimate texture. You can see how to do this stitch in the process video above. It took about five hours to do all the stitching - thanks to FRIENDS for keeping me company whilst sewing :)

After stitching I added the photo and then created the title using white Mini Thickers around the right half. I punched a scalloped border from white cardstock and curved it around the title. To balance that side I wrote journaling around the left half of the heart.

Then I did the tone-on-tone technique using all kinds of embellishments from my Pick-Me-Up collection: Fussy cut bows from Paper 03, fussy cut sentiment bubbles from Paper 08Chipboard StickersEphemera Die CutsPuffy StickersStickersRub-Ons, and sequins & buttons from the Haberdashery Multi-Pack. I didn't have much to match the orange section so I added a couple enamel dots.

I hope this layout inspires you to check out the new Scrapbook.com Ink Pads and Jumbo Sponge Daubers as well as my Pick-Me-Up collection! Thanks so much for stopping by!
