Here is a process video so you can see how this layout came together:
I started by die cutting my Flower Frame from smooth white cardstock using a Silhouette Cameo 3. Then I took some time to find all of the colored solid patterned papers throughout Whimsical including 12x12 papers and pieces from the 6x6 Paper Pad. Then I spent about 5 hours backing the cut file... Yup, it took a long time, but I found it relaxing and I love the results! All of the colors popping through the flowers and leaves!!
I chose Paper 04 as my background and painted gesso across it to tone down the pattern - otherwise it would be a bit too busy. I added the backed flower frame on top using dimensional adhesive to create depth and shadows.
I tucked a photo of Jane swimming in her mermaid swimsuit into the bottom left corner and wrote journaling directly on the photo. I made the title with a sentiment sticker and the little colorful alphabet stickers in the Sticker Book. I tucked a few more Stickers under the right edge of the photo as well as some Chipboard Sticker leaves.
Continuing to embellish, I added a heart sticker over each flower in a coordinating color and then topped off a few of the flowers with Ephemera Die Cut butterflies. These final touches help add more texture and interest.
I hope you are inspired to check out my Whimsical collection with Pink Paislee and my cut files and create something lovely with them!
