Love You Layout by Lady Nany

Saturday, February 16, 2019

Hi everyone, it's Lady Nany here with another layout using the Whimsical collection and the Flower Heart cut file by Paige. Saint Valentine is in the air and in this time of celebrating love and friendship makes me very sentimental with those who are part of my life. That is why this project is dedicated to my unconditional companion Picasso (my son-dog).
For the background, I chose Paper 12 because it matches the predominant color of my photos (although you can also play to contrast) and I scattered white acrylic paint up and down diagonally. While drying, I used my Silhouette to cut the Flower Heart from white cardstock into two sizes: one as the file comes and another smaller one, flipping the design horizontally so that the flowers are opposite. I love the open spaces in the designs because they can be used as is and play with the contrasts of colors with the background or fill in the pieces with patterned papers. I chose the second option and used Paper 17 and the golden hearts paper in the 12x12 Paper Pad from Pick-Me-Up for the flowers and Paper 20 for the leaves.
Once I completed the cut and paste task, I covered the back side with foam tape to create volume (shadows always give a nice visual effect) and I pasted it centered on the page. I included the Love You cut file as a title inside the heart. I covered it with glossy accents to give it dimension and I filled the hearts paper from the Whimsical 6x6 Paper Pad. I used that same paper to frame the photos. The funnest part is decorating and I love using as many materials as I can so I combined Rub-OnsPuffy Stickers, and Floral Die Cuts. I wrote my journaling on the edge of the heart, stamped the date, and drew the movement of the butterflies as a final detail.
I hope you find inspiration in this project to create your own designs! Thank you very much for visiting, see you next time!

  2. I have used this cut file but hadn't thought to cut it twice, flipping one of them. Such a clever idea! I love your finished page and the journaling around the top of the hearts is perfect.
