Happy Smile Layout

Sunday, March 17, 2019

Hi everybody! This was the first layout that I made using Horizon when it landed on my doorstep last December. I was worried that it might be TOO colorful, but then I thought, there's no such thing :)
I started with Paper 24 as my background. Then I used a triangle punch with Paper 03 and Paper 14 to create a whole bunch of pennants. I traced a plate onto the background to make a circle and then lightly adhered the pennants in a sunburst shape, machine stitching each layer to keep them in place forever. I bent up the triangles to create dimension and shadows.
Time to embellish! I added a cute photo of Jane on the left side and tucked Floral Die Cuts underneath the top. I used a "Happy" Chipboard Sticker for the title and tucked a "seek" Sticker and "smile" Epoxy Sticker into the flowers and leaves.
To finish I splattered watered down white acrylic paint over the entire layout (making sure to cover the photo with scrap paper before) and then wrote journaling with a white pen next to the picture.

I hope this page makes you want to use all the colors from my new Horizon collection to create a sunburst design! Thank you for stopping by, it always makes my day!
