I have a new layout to share today made for the Silhouette Blog showing how to use my Layered Flower & Leaves cut file to create a colorful and dimensional background! Bring on Spring!
Check out the process video to see how this layout came together:
I started by creating seven layered flowers and about nine leaves from American Crafts cardstock. I used five different shades of the same color cardstock to create each flower and I made a yellow, light pink, aqua, purple, blue, dark pink, and orange flower.
After creating the flowers (I pinched all the petals and leaves to make them more realistic looking) I chose a cream cardstock for the background and adhered them in place. I tucked the leaves underneath the flowers using glue dots.
Since the background was so colorful and busy, I didn't add much else, only a photo and a few sentiments made with my Whimsical collection such as a Chipboard Sticker, a title made with the colorful Foam Mini Thickers, and a sentiment trimmed from a 2x2 Paper Pad. I layered these down the right edge of the photo and called the layout finished!
I do need to go in and add journaling, but I just couldn't figure out where to add it at the time. Perhaps on the left edge, maybe tucked under the photo so it's hidden... we shall see!
I hope you are inspired to check out the Layered Flower & Leaves cut file and create beautiful things with it! Not just for scrapbook layouts but also home decor, cards, even mini albums!
Thanks so much for stopping by today, have a good one!
