Crop & Create Winnipeg Recap

Saturday, April 6, 2019

I just got home from teaching at Crop & Create in Winnipeg, Canada! Such a joy to be with fellow scrappers for an entire weekend. Makes me fall in love with this hobby all over again.
After dropping the kids off at school I headed to the airport and flew to Minneapolis. I remembered that I've actually been to Minneapolis before (I went to Archiver's annual ScrapFest at the Mall of America on behalf of American Crafts way back in September 2008 and I actually found my blog post recap about it! Can't believe I've been blogging so long!) and I spotted the familiar Mall of America as we were coming in for landing.
Quick layover and then I flew to Winnipeg. Easy breezy on-time and short flights which calms my heart because I hate flying.
My friend & scrapper Nicole Nowosad picked me up at the airport then a bit later we got lunch at the on-site hotel restaurant. I can't pass up pretzel bun burgers and sweet potato fries!
 Let the festivities begin!!
Yummy dessert bar.
We did make'n'takes at night and I taught my specialty - backing a small flower cut file :)
The weather was insanely beautiful the entire weekend but funnily enough I never went outside the entire time - I walked into the hotel on Friday afternoon and walked out on Sunday evening lol.
Sneaks of the layouts and mini album I taught how to make - I'll share full posts of them soon!
My layout class was on Saturday morning. The students were so nice and welcoming and completed their layouts quickly.
 My teaching table.
 Work in progress.
I ate dinner with Nicole and Vicki Boutin and then afterwards we split a bunch of cupcakes for dessert. The salted caramel was divine.
I taught my mini album class early Sunday morning, ate lunch with Catherine (got a yummy brisket sandwich and more sweet potato fries!) and then we took some pics together. Love these gals! Catherine is planning a huge event in Toronto May 2020 with Amy Tangerine, Vicki Boutin, Shimelle, myself, and Heidi Swapp so save the date! Hope to see you there!
Huge thank you to Catherine for inviting me to teach again and for an event that ran smoother than butter! It was such a treat to be there surrounded by so many people who share the same passion for scrapbooking and preserving memories!
