Welcome to Saturday, friends! Jamie Pate here with a layout using all good Paige Evans cut files and Horizon collection.
I’ve sort of been on a Minc kick lately. I decided to cut a large title that I then foiled with Minc Silver Squares. This became the total vibe of this page layout. Using the Good Vibes Only cut file I painted the cut with Minc Reactive Spray. Then, after it had dried really well (and I actually added another coat of Reactive Spray) I foiled the title with Silver Squares Reactive Foil. I love how the holographic reflection of the foil plays well with the pinks found in Horizon.
Not only that, but I also used that Wonky Hearts Background as a mat for the photo and embellishments. I love those Wonky Hearts. And I also loved playing with multiple cut files on a page. I attempted to create a horizontal sketch with the title plus the Wonky Hearts. But they were not playing well together in that formation. Asking myself how else this could work, I started to stack. Stacking the title on top of the Wonky Hearts in a vertical composition was it! I could feel the good vibes happening on this page.
I was sort of afraid the silver and holographic would take over the page. But I don’t think it did. I think it brings a strong energy to this page. Which just so happens to be part of the story being told here. I love when that happens.
Embellishments were clustered together in one grouping. This is a go-to technique for me. I don’t always craft it this way, but it worked for this page and the title and the size of the photo.
So. Your take away? I think there are a lot of things you can take away from this page. Cut more than one cut file for your page. Foil the title with Minc Foil and Reactive Spray. And cluster all those Horizon embellishments up to keep the whole page cohesive. And most of all, have fun!
