Hi there! It’s Jodie King with you today, and I’m super honored to be Paige’s May 2019 guest designer! You can find me on instagram, my blog, Facebook, Pinterest, and YouTube. I’m a girl from Down Under in Australia and get so much enjoyment out of our wonderful international scrapbooking community. Paige’s cut files in the Silhouette store are always so gorgeous and I adore using them. I’ve picked a bunch of them for my projects today. I’ve also used Paige’s beautiful Horizon collection in all of these projects.
Project 1 is a traveler’s notebook spread and I used the Beautiful cut file as a large title.
I backed the letters with pieces from Paper 03, matching them to the colors on the background paper. I backstitched through all of the letters with white embroidery thread and to reinforce the tone-on-tone effect, adhered fussy cut butterflies and moths from Paper 07 across the left page. The background on the right page is made of strips of patterned paper in colors to match the colors on the left. I printed a large photo and some basic journaling to finish this spread off.
Project 2 is a wall art piece using the amazing Glamper cut file. I seriously hope that my retirement caravan is going to look as glamorous as this one!
I used an entire packet of Floral Die Cuts to make it look like this pretty glamper was sitting in a field of wildflowers, and I especially love the Road to Happiness sign from the Ephemera Die Cuts pointing towards the caravan. To create my background I cut the Leaf Wreath cut file in white cardstock and painted it with watercolors in two shades of green before adhering it to a white cardstock background and chain stitching along the center of it with green embroidery thread. Then I had fun splattering different coordinating colors of watercolors around the wreath. The glamper sits happily in the middle, of course with a sweet pink moth overhead that reminds me of those fun late night camping adventures.
Project 3 is a mini album. Well technically it’s four mini albums within a mini album!
This project uses the Mini Album Scalloped Edges and Mini Album Card with Tags cut files, and I also used the Layered Butterfly cut file for the cover.
This mini album records our holiday to Hawaii and I decided to jump into a tone-on-tone and rainbow theme with this one.
I’ve created four separate mini albums each with their own color, so I have a blue, pink, orange/yellow, and green album, and I’ve also color matched my photos for each album.
I layered different sized and shaped tags together in a cascading effect for each of the minis and adorned them with ephemera pieces and stickers from the Horizon collection.
 Here are lots more photos:
I have a walkthrough on my YouTube channel if you’d like to see the full album flip through:
