Happy Day Layout by Cristina Sales

Thursday, May 9, 2019

Cristina Sales here, happy Thursday to everyone. Spring has now exploded everywhere and the desire to use the wonderful colors of the new Horizon collection is growing. Today for my inspiration I made a layout created with one Paige’s cut files. I chose the Dangling Hearts Border cut file.
The shape of this file immediately made me think of hanging decorations and so I thought of using a part of Paper 03 to create a shade of color that I then mirrored with watercolors on white cardstock. I spread the watercolor using a brush to create water droplets. I let it air dry to avoid warping the paper further and finally I sewed across the top using gold thread.

Watercolor background is my most favorite way to decorate my pages because you never can know where the colors will run to and and how much the sheet will absorb the water to the point of making pigment colors more or less intense. Each time you will have a different effect even if you chose the same technique or the same way of decoration.

Now it’s time to create my decoration all around the picture. I can’t make a page without embellishments like Ephemera Die Cuts and Stickers and I really fell in love with the Floral Die Cuts. I also added a Shaped Paper Clip. To complete my composition I added some tiny buttons and many drops of gesso mixed with water.

I hope you liked my project, thanks for stopping by, and see you in my next post!
