Here is my other guest project for Hip Kit Club featuring the stencil I designed exclusively for the April kits!
I started by scraping white modeling paste through the stencil in each quadrant of a 12x12 piece of thick white cardstock and set it aside to dry for a few minutes.
Next I pooled water on top of each section and then dropped in the three Lindy’s Stamp Gang – Magicals – Powder Watercolors. They're seriously magical! They look white but once you activate the powder with water they turn all kinds of colorful and fun. The April kits include pink, orange, and blue colors and then I grabbed some gold and yellow from my stash for the final section.
Once all of the mixed media dried I found a photo of Fox & Jane in my parent's pool last summer to place on the blue section. I love how the colors pop!
Check out this texture and color from the stencil and powders!!
Time to embellish! I pulled from the floral die cuts, ephemera die cuts, and the chipboard stickers to decorate color-on-color in each quadrant. I wrote a sentence of journaling with a white pen at the bottom of the photo to finish. This layout was actually super quick & easy to create with the help of the stencil, powders, and color-on-color technique!
I hope this layout inspires you to check out the exclusive stencil I designed for the April Hip Kit Club and also to check out all their awesome kits because they really are awesome! Thanks so much for having me Hip Kit Club!
