First check out the process video so you can see how this page came together from start to finish:
I started by creating a custom background with the Shimmerz Paints. I spritzed 1) Mustard Seed Vibez 2) Granny Gray Spritz 3) Rip Van Periwinkle Vibez 4) Jeni B Bleu Vibez 5) Well Blue Me Down Coloringz 6) Pink Stilettos Coloringz 7) Ruby Spritz 8) Pretty in Pink Coloringz 9) Sweet Heart Vibez 10) Iris My Case Shimmerz and 11) Gold Glimmer Blingz all across a sheet of smooth white cardstock.
Once all the spritzing dried I splashed more of the same colors on top, with a whole bunch more of the Gold Glimmer Blingz. I used a hair dryer to speed up the drying process and then splashed watered down white acrylic paint on top as the final layer.
On another sheet of smooth white cardstock I painted stripes of black acrylic paint in a diamond shape: narrow at the top, wide in the middle, and narrow again at the bottom. At first I watered down the black acrylic paint then as it dried I came in with more acrylic paint.
Next I used my Wonky Hearts Background cut file as a stencil and created a light pink modeling paste with some Shimmerz and scraped it through the cut-file-turned-stencil. I followed the pattern of the painted stripes and added the paste thinner at the top, thicker in the middle, and thinner at the bottom. Once that dried I painted Vicki Boutin iridescent glaze between the black stripes and poured fine silver glitter on top while it was still wet. I painted more iridescent glaze over the glitter to make sure it stays in place permanently.
While the background was drying I punched scalloped borders from smooth white cardstock and then stitched them underneath the black stripes. Back to the Shimmerz background! I used three different sized heart punches and punched bunches of hearts from the colorful custom cardstock made with the Shimmerz. I layered the hearts together and then machine stitched through each one.
I added the hearts to the background using foam squares so they popped off the page and added a photo to the bottom right side. I fussy cut a "love you" heart sentiment from the phrases 2x2 Paper Pad in my Horizon collection for the title and placed some epoxy sentiment stickers on a few hearts for embellishment. To finish I typed, printed, trimmed, and glued journaling across the middle.
I love how shimmery this layout is created with the Shimmerz Paints! I hope you will check out their awesome products and go to town creating beautiful works of art! Thanks for stopping by today, see you again tomorrow!
