Hi friends, Cristina Sales here and today I have a new page to share with you featuring a cut file I’d never used before - it’s the Cut and Fold Butterflies Background and I cut it with my Silhouette Cameo from white cardstock.
This kind of cut file is part of a series of cut & fold files by Paige that do not include a cut of the whole design but only some parts, leaving parts to lift and bend, allowing a glimpse of what is underneath. I had a lot of fun playing with my beloved watercolors, distributing them randomly on the wings of these wonderful butterflies. It seems like they're taking off in flight.
I then created a play of colors with the Necolor II of Caran d'Ache to get closer to the hot pink of the paper and then sprinkled the butterflies with color using a very light piece of acetate. I really love the final effect of the color all around the paper.
With a round-tipped brush I then dropped a few colors to create a splatter effect. To enrich the photo without weighing down the whole composition which was already very rich, I added a Tag, some Stickers, and a Charm, all from the Horizon collection. To make my title and a final embellishment I used the Foam Mini Thickers and Enamel Shapes from the Whimsical collection.
I hope you liked my project and many thanks for stopping by! See you in my next post!

ReplyDeletethanks kelly the paper underneath the butterflies is part of the special edition pad by Horizon collection sold to Jo Ann stores. It has inside that beautiful solid paper in that pink shade I love so much. It exactly match with the paint color I spread all over the buttferlies....
