Las Cinco Layout by Nidia Rubio

Hi, friends! It's Nidia Rubio from Scrapamundi, and I'm here to show you another layout with pieces from the Horizon collection. In this post I introduce you to four good friends. The day of the photograph was a very special day because the daughter of one of them was baptized.
For this layout I used Paper 24 as the background because I wanted to create contrast to the gesso stripes. I made the gesso stripes in three steps. First of all I covered the central zone of the layout with a light layer of gesso. When it was dried, I used the Sunburst Rays Background cut file with modeling paste. And finally, when it was dried, I used the Star Confetti cut file with modeling paste again to create the shooting stars shower effect.

For making the frame of the photograph I used the Frame cut file and I cut pieces of Paper 12 to add color to the composition. I really liked the layout in this moment but I realized that it was missing a few details and my husband told me that I maybe could try to add some colors covering the shooting stars shower scene. He always helps me when I have doubts in my scrapbooking projects :)

Then I painted the background with watercolors and I saw he was right. These colors are the perfect touch to create the effect that I was looking for. I also added Ephemera Die Cuts. To finish I used white Mini Thickers from Pick-Me-Up painted with different inks to compose the title of the layout and I wrote my journaling.

I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed creating this layout :) Thanks for stopping by!
