Hey everyone, it’s Elsie Robinson here again with another layout using the Truly Grateful collection with one of Paige’s amazing cut files. This time I created a layout with the Cactus with Flowers cut file and I had so much fun using it!
I cut the cut file from a piece of white cardstock and I sized it relatively large as I wanted it to be the focal point of the layout. I firstly started by backing the flowers with pink/purple/orange patterned papers and I used a mix of patterns from Paper 14 and the 6x8 Paper Pad. Next I backed the cactus with the zesty green pattern on the B side of Paper 03 and I used the darker green pattern from Paper 22 to back the leaves.
To back the plant pot, I used a handful of blue patterned papers. I backed the main body of the pot with Paper 13 and for the details on the pot I used slightly lighter blue-toned patterns from Paper 16 and Paper 20. I love how bright and zingy this cute little cactus looks!
For my background paper, I decided to go with the B side of Paper 21. Those little x’s reminded me of the needles on the cactus, so I thought it would complement the cut file well. And I couldn’t finish a layout without doing some stitching, so I cross-stitched over some of the x’s with matching colors of thread for some subtle background detail. To embellish the layout, I used a combination of of the Floral Die Cuts from Truly Grateful, fussy-cut butterflies from Paper 07 from Horizon and used a banner Chipboard Stickers from Whimsical. And because I can never resist a good pun, I used the alpha stickers from the Whimsical Sticker Book to spell out my title: “looking sharp!”.
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you're inspired to check out Paige's cut files and Truly Grateful collection!
