Cute & Kind Beauty Layout

I cut out my Flower Heart design to show how it looks like in real life and then set it aside and forgot about it lol. I only had a few minutes to scrap last Saturday and a cut file always makes layouts come together quickly! So I went through my pre-cut stack, found this one, and got to work!
First step: die cut my Flower Heart cut file from white cardstock using a Silhouette Cameo 3. I then spent some time watercoloring over every flower and leaf. I used my two favorite sets of watercolors by Prima: Pastel Dreams & Tropicals. The colors in these sets match pretty much all of my scrapbook collections with Pink Paislee :)

As the watercolors were drying, I got to work on my background. I used my Heart Confetti stencil (which is now sold out but I have three other options left) and scraped white modeling paste through it on the four quadrants of a sheet of smooth white cardstock.

The modeling paste and watercolors dried quickly and then I used liquid glue to attach the cut file on top, only placing the glue on the center of the flowers so the petals and leaves could bend up and create tons of texture and dimension.

I tucked a photo of Jane into the left side and journaled with a white pen on the empty space. The title is made from a combination of Thickers and Puffy Phrase Stickers from Truly Grateful embellished with a few heart Epoxy Stickers and a gold heart sticker from the Cardstock Stickers.

On the center of a lot of the flowers I added a Wooden Button for pops of eye candy. To finish I punched a scalloped border strip from scrap white cardstock, trimmed it into three pieces, and adhered them under the photo.

I hope this layout inspires you to check out my cut files! When you're in a rut or short on time, a cut file is one great way to go. Watercoloring over it instantly creates an eye-catching background element which doesn't need much embellishing.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!
