Hi friends! It’s Mik here from Papermiks here today with a new blog entry. Halloween is coming and I decided to use the Truly Grateful collection and Sugar Skull cut file to set up my A5 planner and I’ll let you know how you can make the same dashboard for your Halloween planner!
I started by die cutting the Sugar Skull cut file from black cardstock with my Silhouette Cameo 3. While the Cameo was working, I used white cardstock to make my A5 planner dashboard. I cut that to 8 1/4 x 6 1/8" to make the background, and, just so I could add some texture, I used watercolor to also give it some color. I used vellum to back the skull. I glued the cut file on the vellum and once the watercolor was dry, I attached it down using 3D foam squares adhesive because I love the dimension and shadows it creates.
Once the skull was glued, it was time to cut the rolled flowers to make the floral headband. I chose Paper 02 to cut out the flowers and used three types of Paige's Rolled Flower cut files. While the Cameo was cutting the flowers I decorated the skull with some enamel shapes from the Whimsical collection.
Next up, I rolled the flowers and with 3D foam round adhesive I glued them along with some leaves on the skull, making the beautiful floral headband. I love that part! Oh! I almost forgot! To make my white background more colorful, I used a purple paper from 6x8 Paper Pad. You can find the same paper in 12 x12” size, it's Paper 04.
So, there we have it, my beautiful Halloween dashboard! I hope this was inspirational and that you all have enjoyed it. Any questions or you simply would like to talk more about planner dashboards? Leave me a comment below the post or check out my IG account.
