Love Layout

Here is a new layout using my Love cut file and Truly Grateful collection!
Trim a 6x12” piece of the pink striped B-side of Paper 23 then adhere it thoroughly to the right half of the pink wallpapery Paper 18. Apply white gesso in the middle of the background and spread it out almost to the edges using your fingers and/or a paintbrush to create the base for mixed media.

Pool water onto the background once it’s dry and then drop watercolors (my favorite are by Prima: Pastel Dreams, Tropicals, and Vintage Pastels) into it, letting the colors spread and blend together.

While the background is drying, die cut the Love cut file from textured white cardstock then use the inner letters as templates to trace the “L” onto the pink floral/stars Paper 04, the heart onto the dark purple B-side of Paper 04, the “V” onto the dark blue B-side of Paper 05, and the “E” onto the mint leaf/butterflies Paper 05. Cut out the letters slightly larger (about ⅛”) and then erase the pencil lines before using them to back the cut file - apply them with liquid glue. Adhere the die cut onto the background.

Tuck a 3x4” photo with a white border for contrast into the heart. Create four embellishment clusters around the page using Floral Die CutsEpoxy Stickers, and Cardstock Stickers. Bend up the petals and leaves to create texture and dimension. Journal with a white pen inside the dark blue “V” on hand drawn lines. Finish with a sprinkling of dots from the Epoxy Stickers.

I hope this layout inspires you to try a few things! Back a large cut file, create a pieced together background, and embrace a bit of mixed media :) Pick up my Truly Grateful collection and check out my cut files to get started documenting your memories today!

  2. Gorgeous Paige! I adore all the flower clusters. You're an expert at putting them together so naturally (I just opened another package today). I'm also looking at the 1/2 and 1/2 paper background. Now, why didn't I ever think of that, LOL ! It's so fun and whimsical. Look at you two little knock-out's ! So cute <3 xK
