September 2019 Highlights

Here is what we were up to in September 2019!
We got our family photos taken by the talented Jennifer Simmons of Everleigh Portraits. I've known Jen since my first day working at American Crafts way back in January 2008. She's a designer for Crate Paper and she rocks. Our photos turned out so colorful and fun! I'll share them all soon :)
We spent a morning at Top Golf.
It stormed and then a rainbow appeared practically in our back yard.
We're going on a cruise next June (it's a scrapbooking cruise - I'm teaching lots of classes on the days at sea - join me won't ya?) so we need to renew our passports. The rules for photos are so stringent lol.
I'm blonde! Every 6 weeks for the past 6 months I've been lightening it.
The kids had a random Friday off school so I took them to the mall and we had too much fun.

Lots of photos of Rachel because she's always by my side.

She loves being scratched.

We tried a new to us BBQ place which was delicious.

Coloradans are very into being Coloradans lol. I'm so embarrassed and ashamed that I'm not "a native". It's a thing!!
We're getting into the spirit of Halloween a wee bit early. We can't help it!
Chris's work has two company parties a year, one at Christmas and one in the summer. For this year's summer party we went to a Rockies game. It was super fun! I'd never been to Coors Field before so that was neat to see.

I wrote a whole separate blog post about our day in Estes Park and visiting the Stanley Hotel.
On the way home from that adventure we stopped at the only Old Spaghetti Factory there is around now. There used to be one in downtown Denver that Chris and I went to often during our dating and newlywed years, I'm super bummed it's closed. Anyway, this remaining one is far away but it was on the way home from Estes Park so we stopped for a late lunch/early dinner and it was DELICIOUS as always!

Story time:
Find out how to get these free cut files today and tomorrow ONLY in my Happy Scrappy Place Facebook group!
There was a petting zoo set up in the church parking lot. Always fun to see animals!
My little sister is pregnant! YAY!!!!

I saw three movies in September. Scary Stories was stupid, ha. It 2 was terrible which is such a bummer after the first one which was awesome. Also, I was the only one in the entire theater when I saw It 2 which added to the creepy factor but didn't make the movie any better lol. Downtown Abbey was wonderful. Love that show so much, love the movie, I hope they make more.

Fox decided he likes Cincinnati Chili, hooray!
September was a suuuuuper crafty month for me! I made more layouts and mini albums than ever before.

Sneaks of layouts that I can share soon!

I completed four mini albums in September! 1) ANDORRA. 2) BURANO. 3) GIVERNY. 4) VADUZ.

Scrapbook.com featured my card in their list of 19 Best Cards of 2019!

I designed and backed two holiday cut files using Truly Grateful which I did turn into layouts but can't share until Halloween and Christmas :) First is a Halloween Wreath:
And a Christmas Icons Grid Background cut file:
The first of teaching three Saturdays in a row happened in September - I taught a four layout class at the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo in Denver. I'm teaching this upcoming Saturday at the Rocky Mountain Crop in Greeley and the following Saturday at Simple Pleasures in Colorado Springs. You can find all the details on my website under IN-PERSON WORKSHOPS: UPCOMING CLASSES.

Here is a snapshot from the event at the Expo. It was such a fun morning!
September was full and fun! Now bring on spooktacular October!

  3. So much to celebrate. Passport photos are the worst, your daughter looks so sad in hers but maybe a sad photo will get you through security faster ;)
