Hey everyone, it’s Elsie Robinson here again with another scrapbook layout to share with you all! For this layout I used Paige's Truly Grateful collection, along with this adorable Camper Scene cut file which even inspired me to do some mixed media on this page!
First up, I started by cutting the Camper Scene cut file from white cardstock using a Silhouette Cameo 3. Since the images in this scene are small and detailed, it was the perfect opportunity for me to back the cut file with some leftover scraps of patterned paper from the Horizon and Truly Grateful collections. And I had a bit of a dilemma about what pattern I should use to back the sky, but in the end I chose a pink ombre pattern (Paper 17 from Whimsical) to create the look of a sunrise at dawn. When it came to choosing a background for the layout, nothing seemed to work, so I decided to do a little bit of mixed media and create my own! I wanted to create something rustic and a woodgrain definitely fit the bill, and it’s so easy to create!
I started by using a 12x12 piece of Bazzil Marshmallow cardstock and grabbing a brown watercolour paint and swiping streaks of colour across the page. Once the page was dry, I grabbed some Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink and a woodgrain stencil from my stash (mine is by Tim Holtz) and lightly dabbed the ink through the stencil to create some subtle woodgrain markings.
To embellish, I fussy cut the ‘rise & shine’ sun from Paper 01 and placed it over the cut file’s sun which incorporated a fun title into the layout’s design. The Floral Die Cuts are one of my all-time favourite scrappy products and I clustered several of them around the cut file and my photos.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you’re inspired to create a rustic Autumnal scene of your own!
