I have a new layout to share with you today using my new Bloom Street collection!
Here is a process video to see how this layout came together from start-to-finish:
In every collection I love to include a paper with squares of different patterns. These little squares are perfect for punching shapes, fussy cutting, using to back cut files, and hand cutting letters to create a ransom style title like I made here! So I grabbed Paper 07 from Bloom Street, cut it into the individual squares, and then started hand cutting letters from each square to say "I MUST HAVE FLOWERS ALWAYS AND ALWAYS".
I distressed the edges of every letter with a pair of fine-tipped scissors to help define the edges and make them pop off the background. Speaking of the background, I used the pretty peachy pink watercolor style B-side of Paper 22 for my background.
Then I lightly glued the title across the page, centering it in the middle. I used white thread with my sewing machine to straight stitch across every row of words. This keeps the letters in place permanently and then I could bend up the edges to create shadows and dimension.
I found two photos of my kiddos in front of a wagon filled with flowers in downtown Littleton, printed the pictures with a white border for contrast, and then adhered them to opposite corners of the layout, tucking them into the letters to make them look like they fit in with the title.
To embellish I added flowers found in the Cardstock Stickers, 4-Page Sticker Book, and Ephemera Die Cuts around the page using foam squares to attach them in place, again for dimension. I tucked in leaves from the Cardstock Stickers and Puffy Vinyl Stickers on either side of the "ALWAYS" word. I wrote journaling with a white paint pen on the right side to finish.
I hope this page inspires you to pick up the new Bloom Street collection and create a fun hand cut title! Thanks for stopping by today, have a great rest of the week!
