Hi friends! Brianna Lepper here with my very first layout using Paige's newest collection, Bloom Street! This collection is absolutely beautiful and it's making me long for warmer days in the sunshine surrounded by beautiful flowers! I don't know about you, but I'm so over the cold, cloudy, and rainy days. So let's just say that when I opened up my design team box, I immediately fell in love with everything in this collection and I wanted to use ALLLL of the things! So, here's my layout, let me know what you think!
I took this photo of my son in my hometown back in California that's known as the Valley of the Flowers. We were out and about and decided to have a quick impromptu photo session at one of the flower fields. I am so glad that we did. This has been a photo that I've wanted to document and Bloom Street was just perfect for it! For the foundation of my layout, I went back and forth between a mixed media background or patterned paper. Ultimately, I went with the mixed media background. I prepped another piece of thick white cardstock with gesso and applied a few Shimmerz sprays. I wanted to create a soft, watercolor background using colors that matched this collection. Soft, simple, and sweet!
While my background was drying, I got started on the cut file process. I knew I wanted to use a floral cut file for this layout and Paige has no shortage of them in Silhouette! I chose her Flower Corner cut file and cut it on some plain white cardstock on my Silhouette Cameo. After it was finished cutting, I started backing the whole thing with papers from the 6x8 Paper Pad. Once my background was dry and the cut file was completely backed, I trimmed the white cardstock, adhered the entire page on Paper 11 and ran it through my sewing machine. Then I started embellishing. I chose a few Floral Die Cuts and adhered them down around the page. I thought the hummingbirds were so cute in the collection so I pulled one from the Ephemera Die Cuts and the Cardstock Stickers and stuck those both down as well.
I added a few stickers from the 4-Page Sticker Book and either added some tangled thread underneath it or ran it through my sewing machine. I love adding thread to my layouts, it gives my page another layer of texture! For my title, I used a phrase from the Puffy Vinyl Stickers and finished the title by creating my own word using the Puffy Word Stickers.
I had so much fun going through this new collection and creating this spring-themed layout! Thanks so much for stopping by today and I'll see you in my next post!
