A warm hello friends! Paula Fiihr here and for my post today I went with a theme we can all relate to right now - home. Paige has so many wonderful cut files for this, but I picked out this Home Geometric cut file and this Home Overlapping with Stitching Holes cut file.
I sized the files to fit in my art journal where I have been documenting my year. I hand stitched through the holes on the "home" file after cutting it out on white cardstock. The letters were backed with papers from Bloom Street. I added a family selfie in the heart before embellishing the page with Layered Butterfly Stickers, Ephemera Die Cuts, and Cardstock Stickers. Some Washi Tape and a pink ribbon complete the page.
The Home Geometric cut file was cut with from paper in the 12x12 Paper Pad. The first thing I did was sew on a door. Before attaching the house to the page, I journaled a few lines you can see if you open the door. The door knob is an adhesive jewel from the Mixed Embellishments. Above the door is a shaker bag filled with sequins - this adds a fun stained glass effect. I used a couple pics I took of my daughters from the past month we have all been home which has included lots of time with our pets and crafting together.
The other squares in the house are filled with a card from 2x2 Paper Pads, a sticker from 4-Page Sticker Book, and paper scraps from Bloom Street. I added a roof that is actually a pocket and tucked in a journaling card from the Ephemera Die Cuts. Floral Die Cuts are layered for a bit of a pop.
Although this has been a challenging month, these pages remind me of the good family times we have and how grateful I am for that. Hope this inspires you to document your time at home as well!

ReplyDeleteHi Paula! Love your cute journal. You've used Paige's cut files so creatively. Journaling in the doorway is fun as is the shaker over the doorway :D How fun to have a parrot, does he/she talk for you? I had a aqua budgie as a kid and just loved 'Tweety' so much xK
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful way to document being "stuck" in our homes & your journaling & stitching are the perfect, heartfelt touches!
