Murten, Switzerland Mini Album

Wednesday, April 15, 2020

I have a new mini album to share with you today that I made for the Pink Paislee blog using Bloom Street about our afternoon in Murten, Switzerland back in June 2014!
Here is a flip through to see what this mini album looks like in action:
I started by cutting out the Layered Mini Album cut file by Lori Whitlock from all of the floral Bloom Street patterned papers and a couple of my Envelope cut files. All the floral papers look oh-so pretty stacked together :) I machine stitched around all of the edges using a similar or contrasting color of thread. Time for photos and fun!
On the cover I made the title "MURTEN" with Floral Foam Thickers and added a pink leaf Puffy Vinyl Sticker below. The album is connected together with three blue binder rings that I got from Amazon. For a little decoration I took two thread tassels off of the pom-pom Tassels and looped them onto the top binder ring.
I used the mini alphabet stickers in the 4-Page Sticker Book to create "SWITZERLAND" along the edge of the left page and journaled on a card from the Ephemera Die Cuts. On the right page I made three layered flowers with a punch and attached sequins to the middles.
Since each page gets progressively bigger, it's this spread where they were large enough to start adding my 2" photos!
I used leaves from the Puffy Vinyl Stickers and Floral Die Cuts to tie the pages together and embellished with Cardstock Stickers.
The Puffy Word Stickers add pops of color and the adhesive jewels from the Mixed Embellishments add pops of bling!
I stapled two photos together so the top one lifts up to reveal another underneath.
In the envelope I added six extra photos - three back-to-back sets - and tucked them inside.
On this spread the Layered Butterfly Stickers make an entrance!
Sometimes less is more so all I did here was add some floral sequins from the Mixed Embellishments.
Little clusters of Ephemera Die CutsCardstock Stickers, and pieces from the 4-Page Sticker Book adorn this spread.
On the last spread I added a bit of journaling. I didn't get to include all of the information about the history of the town like I usually do in my travel-themed mini albums, but that's okay, we have it all on our blog post re-cap :)
The back cover is a piece of the Specialty Transparency Paper stitched onto plain white cardstock.
I love how chunky this album turned out to be! It makes flipping through it that much more fun.
I hope you are inspired to pick up my Bloom Street collection and create a mini album of your own.
Thanks for stopping by and let me know if you have any questions, I'm happy to help!

  2. This is just delicious Paige ! Like a piece of fancy cake with one wonderful layer after another. I love that each tag is a different shape and size and you get a wee peek of what's to come. I always love how you curate your pretty collections so artfully onto these tiny pages. Switzerland was my favourite place on our own European holiday. I'd live there in a heartbeat 🥰xK
