Pluto Old Pal Layout by Shimelle

Hello crafty friends! It's Shimelle and I'm quite sure this is the most embellishment I've ever managed from just three products! Today I'm scrapbooking with one cut file, one paper pad, and one sticker book! And that's it!
I started by cutting the 12x12 Speech Bubble Background cut file from smooth white cardstock and setting aside the middle of each speech bubble as they will be perfect to add to future pages. Today I just wanted the outline. I also cut the watercolor washed paper from the Bloom Street 12x12 Paper Pad using the same cut file, but removing the inner cut line for each speech bubble with the 'release compound path' command in Silhouette Studio. This is the fastest I've ever backed a cut file, for sure! I added that pairing to a dark green background, also from the 12x12 Paper Pad.

Papers done, and on to stickers! All of the embellishments on this page come from the 30-page Paige Evans #StickerBook! All of them! I started with the speech bubble sticker designs and included any that were a good fit in both size and theme for my page. The remaining bubbles on my background were filled with other sticker elements, including circles, strips, flowers, and phrases. The final stickers were metallic gold foiled hearts.

My title came from the #StickerBook too: it has three alphabets, including rainbow letters on white tiles, white letters on black tiles, and a beautiful floral style. I used the black & white tile letters for my title and layered it over a red sticker strip. There are so many ways you could include the journaling inside the speech bubbles, but I opted for writing all the way around the outside of the bubbles, in a frame of the square page. My favourite white pen is the classic Sakura Gelly Roll.
You can see this entire page come together (including how I cut the inside piece to back the cut file) in this video:

Thanks so much for taking a look at my project today! Are you up for the challenge of getting lots of color, pattern, and embellishment from just two or three products? I'd love to see which papers and stickers you pick! Happy crafting!

  1. Shimelle, this page was amazing! I love what you make with cut files. I may have to scraplift this exact layout as I have these products and this was a great example of how to use all those speech bubble stickers! Thank you for showing that demo on the silhouette-I was thinking I would have to ask in the comments and then you shared it!
