Good morning! Paula Fiihr here and today’s blog post is full of cuteness documenting my Mother's Day with my family. I chose to put it in my memory keeping art journal.
The first thing I did was splatter the background with watercolors. I had been wanting to use this adorable Bee cut file for awhile and I cut a couple from black cardstock. The Honeycomb Background cut file looks so cute cut from Bloom Street Paper 14. Before decorating the honeycomb, I used it as a stencil in one corner and painted through it with yellow watercolors.
Then I filled it up with hexagons cut from Bloom Street papers and a few watercolor scraps. Before gluing it down, I put a strip of Paper 16 and a picture of my girls and the yummy dinner they made me. A couple stickers from the 4-Page Sticker Book frame the pic.
The Bee Happy square came from the 12x12 Paper Pad. To hold my journal card, I used more of Paper 14. to make a pocket. I love that paper so much!! I scored the three sides of the pocket paper 1/4" so it would have a bit more dimension and glued it to the page. Inside the pocket is a card from the 12x12 Paper Pad attached to the word paper also from that pad. I sewed some fabric strips to the top of the card for a fun way to pull it out. Another Bee attached with a pop dot completes the pocket. Then I finished the pages off with some Washi Tape and embellishments from my stash.
All in all, I think it’s a perfect layout to document my lovely day. Thank you so much for stopping by!
