Hello friends, it’s Kelly Daye here with my newest Silhouette Design Team Layout for Paige. I’m feeling so well rested and happy these days. Days are filled with spring time walks, chirping birds, and like this layout, all the colors.
I wanted to do something in rainbow colors, but thought about how I could do it in a new way. Bring on the needle and threads and Paige’s Sketch & Stitch Clouds Background cut file. It really was a time investment but the results are so pretty! Each row is a color in the rainbow in three different tones. I chain stitched with 6 strands of DMC embroidery floss. The background paper and bicycle are both white cardstock cut on my much loved Cameo 3. I cut three words from Paper 13 and added them to clouds in the same color.
This is my own version of "UP" but with a sweet Tandem Bicycle cut file by Paige. One seat for Jim and one for me. I love the floral banner filled with bits of Paper 05. The purple tires, Paper 03, and yellow frame, Paper 14, are perfectly girly, sorry Jim. The green fenders are courtesy of the 6x8 Paper Pad. There were flowers in the basket with this cut file, but I trimmed them off and replaced them with this pretty posy of violets from the Floral Die Cuts.
My title is made with the Mini Thickers from the Whimsical collection. They were the perfect size to fit on the tires - fun and colorful! Finally, you can’t have a flying bicycle without balloons! I used one from Paige’s Balloons cut file, then copied it 7 times to cut them out of the heart paper in the 6x8 Paper Pad and Paper 06. At first I was going to add them to the background as a tone-on-tone embellishment but I think they stand out much nicer scattered around, what do you think? Each is anchored with a piece of gold metallic thread so my bicycle glides through the air effortlessly. Don’t forget the sparkle! A few sequins from my stash were scattered around the page along with dabs of gold Stickles.
I hope things are looking up in your world too, see you again soon!
