Hey everyone, it’s Elsie Robinson here with a layout made using the Bloom Street collection and Paige’s gorgeous Floral Ampersand cut file. Ampersands are such a great focus for a scrapbook layout because they’re bold, simple, and provide lots of cute places to add embellishment clusters and a photo.
To start with I cut the Floral Ampersand cut file from white cardstock. I backed the floral section with patterned paper, using some small scraps of patterns from previous projects. I always save these small scraps for when I back cut files - no bits of prettiness go to waste! I backed the ampersand with Paper 04, as the white background would add a nice contrast to the colorful flowers and background paper. I also thought that the text print would work well with the ampersand motif.
I love hand-stitching, so I couldn’t resist stitching around the edge of the cut file. This adds loads of texture and definition and I just love the look of it! Once that was done, I popped the cut file up onto some foam dots and placed it in the center of Paper 22, which I used as my background.
I decided to jazz up the background a little with Paige’s Star Stencil and used modeling paste to create a subtle but magical look. I clustered mixes of Floral Die Cuts, Cardstock Stickers, and Puffy Vinyl Stickers to embellish around the ampersand and my photo. I also stuck some of the butterfly Washi Tape onto some white paper, fussy-cut them out, and used them as die-cuts. And for my title I used the ‘sunshine’ and ‘happiness’ Cardstock Stickers and used the ampersand cut file to complete the title.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’ve been inspired!
