Love Scrapping Mini Album by Kelly Daye

Thursday, July 9, 2020

Hello, hello! Kelly Daye here with a mini album designed with the charming Bloom Street collection. This mini is all about my magical year of scrapbooking. Starting with joining Paige’s awesome team, meeting at Creativation, learning new ways to save memories, and being inspired by friends around the world.
The base of my album was designed in the Silhouette using Paige’s Love in Flowers cut file and Flower cut file. Each letter was cut out of white cardstock and backed with soft pastel Bloom Street papers. The L is backed with Paper 14, O is Paper 07, V is Paper 04, and E is Paper 15. Once I had the pages planned in Silhouette, I welded part of the flower cut file to a rectangle to make the back of the album.

Of course I had to have tassels and chose one from the cute Bloom Street Tassels, but leave it to me to take things apart. I wanted the pink heart on a mauve tassel I made with DMC Embroidery Floss. Then, I tried something totally new! I made a macrame rope rainbow. I’ll definitely make more. I learned how at this video by Rachel Lowe.

Now, there’s only a tiny bit of room on the back of the L and front of the O in my design, but I was still able to plan a pretty garden. You can see that in my flip through video on YouTube at the end.
Off to page 3, a shaker made with the heart wreath from the exclusive to scrapbook.com Ephemera Die Cuts. There’s me meeting Paige at Creativation in January, hope I didn’t babble on too much! (Paige adds - you're just the sweetest Kelly!!!)

Page 4 in my mini is really cute. It’s a paper folio made with Paige’s Accordion Box Mini Album cut file which you can see in the flip through. Page 5 is another mini in a mini. I’ve made a heart envelope to hold Paige’s Heart Mini Mini Album cut file. The front of the envelope is cross stitched with DMC embroidery floss. I had my Cameo draw Paige’s Cross Stitched Heart cut file to use as a template. Just another way to use cut files! This page is all about Paige’s Silhouette Cut File Design Team, which I feel blessed to be part of. The message, "I'heart'ALLU" is made with Puffy Word Stickers. The word tags are from the Cardstock Stickers and the "hello" sticker is from the exclusive to scrapbook.com Stickers.

Each heart highlights a project by my talented teammates and of course a gorgeous inspiration from sweet Paige too. I cut out the Heart Mini Mini Album from cardstock and covered each one with paper from the 6x8 Paper Pad or a wee scrap left from other projects.

Page 6 is a stitched scene inspired by a layout Paige shared back in May. I finally figured out how to do French Knots (honestly, it took years, ha) and stitched up fussy cut flowers from Paper 12. Once stitched, I popped them up with foam tape and tucked in a tag from the scrapbook.com Ephemera Die Cuts.

Page 7, another mini in a mini and Paige’s Eat Sleep Scrap Repeat cut file. I used Paige’s Envelope cut file to make a cover and added a violet posy from the Floral Die Cuts to pretty it up even more.

Inside, a simple five sided fold-out gave me room for three photos, a tag from Paper 01, and embossed panels that I added Puffy Word Stickers to. I did some machine stitching for extra texture, leaving the threads messy.

The back cover was the perfect spot for Paige’s Mini Album Card With Pocket Envelope & Tags cut file. The fourth mini in this mini and the direct result of being unable to pick just one! After painting with Prima - Pastel Dreams watercolors on watercolor paper, I used Paige’s brand new Flower Garden Background stencil and white modeling paste on top. I machine stitched the same paper to make a belly band and stapled on a butterfly Puffy Vinyl Sticker as a closure.

Inside, this clever card folds out in different directions and layers. There’s a pocket for tags and another folding mini for more photos. Does that mean I have five minis in my mini?!? :)

So that was kind of long and if you’re not tired of me yet, head on over to YouTube for the flip through!

Thanks so much for coming, bye bye for now!

    1. Hi Rachel, I didn't do it all at once but did one page a day. The hardest part is deciding which cut files to use, I love soooo many 🥰
