Hey friends! Brianna Lepper here today sharing another layout using Paige’s Go the Scenic Route collection! I am still so in love with all of the beautiful and vibrant colors! Have you had a chance to pick it up yet? There are so many gorgeous elements to it and I seriously want to use it all up! Here’s my layout, I hope that you like it!
For this layout, I wanted to add lots of mixed media to it so I chose the Boys Will Be Boys cut file and cut it on my Silhouette Cameo from a piece of white cardstock. I chose this specific word cut file so that I could add modeling paste and ink sprays to each letter.
First, I took the positive pieces of the cut file and prepped them with white gesso. Then, I took Paige’s Chevrons Stencil and applied light modeling paste through it onto each letter. I laid them aside to dry overnight and the next day, I took my Shimmerz sprays from my stash and sprayed color on each one. Look at all of the texture!!
Next, I got to work on my background. I prepped another piece of white cardstock with clear gesso and then applied more modeling paste through Paige’s Star Confetti Stencil. After it was finished drying, I took the same Shimmerz sprays from earlier and created a fun & colorful background. I blended on each color adding a bit of water to help get the colors moving. This added even more texture onto my page and I love it!
While I was waiting for my background to dry, I added foam tape to the back of the cut file and used my three photos to back the three B’s in the cut file. It was a fun and different way of incorporating my photos into my layout. I hope that you’ll give it a try! Then I went ahead and adhered the entire cut file down to my background and started inserting the positive letters into the negative portion of the cut file. I made sure to tilt the entire thing to give the whole page a fun design.
To add even more color to this page, I tore two pieces of Paper 10 and added it to the top and bottom of my layout and ran it through my sewing machine. I added two embellishment clusters to both areas using the Floral Die Cuts and the Ephemera Die Cuts.
Next, I added a sentiment from the Puffy Phrase Thickers down at the bottom and also sprinkled some of the puffy circles around the page to bring in little pops of color to each cluster. I absolutely love all of the color, dimension, and texture of this layout! I had snapped these photos of my boys while we were without power for two days. They were on the couch laughing and messing around and it was so nice to see them spending time together. I am so glad I was able to capture these moments and this cut file couldn’t be anymore perfect for this special memory!
Thank you so much for stopping by and being here! I hope that I’ve inspired you in some way today! Create texture and back your cut file with mixed media or create a fun mixed media background. I’ll see you in my next post! Take care friends!
