Mallorca Layout by Stefanie Ried

Hi friends, Stefanie Ried here! For my next layout I used the beautiful doilies from the Go the Scenic Route papers. In combination with the colors I immediately thought of summer, sun, and the sea. So I looked for a suitable photo in my drawer. I liked this photo from our vacation on Mallorca very much and it fits perfectly. Although it was only a year ago, it seems like it was ages ago. What a crazy time. Such moments are all the more special.

I first worked on the background with Pastel Dreams watercolors in different shades of blue and green. Then I fussy cut the doilies. To avoid them lying flat on the layout, I curled the points with a thin brush. This gives them more dimension.

On the colored background I put a crumpled vellum and sewed it with the sewing machine. Then I added the thread. The beads and sequins I threaded with a needle. To fix them I first used mini glue dots and additionally liquid, clear glue. It takes some time until everything lies nicely on the layout. But it worked out quite well :)

Thanks for coming by!
