6 Layouts for Auction

I'm participating in a crafty community auction with Christmas for the Kartchner's for Dear Lizzy and her family this holiday season to hopefully make their spirits bright. Up for bids, I've made 6 12x12 layouts using my Go the Scenic Route collection! The spots and sizes for photos are included so all you have to do is pop on your pictures and write your journaling. Bidding starts right now and you'll find these pages listed and all the details on instagram at @christmasforthekartchners.

I began scrapping at 6:21am yesterday and finished creating the layouts at around 2pm - 6 layouts in less than 8 hours! It can be done! I scraplifted myself for almost every layout and didn't do any hand stitching - instead I opted for machine stitching which looks awesome too!

For this first layout - you can't go wrong with chevrons! On the pink ledger B-side of Paper 19 I splashed watered down white acrylic paint then splashed Pastel Dreams watercolors on top. While the background was drying I grabbed Paper 10 and cut up the squares of patterns into triangles, distressed the edges, and machine stitched them in place. A few butterfly Cardstock Stickers here and there, tone-on-tone Ephemera Die Cuts, and hearts & dots from the Puffy Phrase Stickers finish up this first page!

I love to make a floral heart page with all of my collections and hadn't with Go the Scenic Route yet - no time like the present! On a piece of textured white cardstock I traced a heart template that I keep in a box of teaching supplies and then pooled water all over it. I dropped in and splashed Pastel Dreams watercolors all around then let it air dry. Next I used almost an entire package of Floral Die Cuts along with the flowers in the Chipboard Stickers and placed them around the heart, matching the florals to the watercolors (pink flowers on pink paint, yellow flowers on yellow paint, etc). I machine stitched around the heart to keep all the flowers in place then bent up the leaves and petals for dimension. I added the spot for a photo, tucked three tags from the Ephemera Die Cuts under the right side, placed a "love" Puffy Phrase Sticker title above, and then embellished around the heart with matching colors of Enamel Dots and hearts from the Puffy Phrase Stickers. Second layout done!

For the third layout I did some mixed media on the yellow polka dot B-side of Paper 14 - first I smooshed on a layer of white gesso, then I spritzed watered down white acrylic paint with a toothbrush centered in the middle, and finally I splashed Pastel Dreams and Tropicals watercolors on top. I cut out the 12 letters from 12 different Go the Scenic Route patterned papers and machine stitched around the edges to give them texture. I then distressed the edges of the letters and adhered the title to the background with foam squares for dimension. I added an oval journaling spot from the Ephemera Die Cuts to the middle "O" with spots for the photos inside the other two "O"s. I embellished with a few Chipboard Stickers and Enamel Dots. Third layout, done and done!

For my 4th layout I die cut my Best Day Ever cut file from textured white cardstock and then backed the letters with a variety of patterned papers from Go the Scenic Route in a rainbow order. I used foam squares to attach the letters which gives the layout lots of depth and shadows. I added the photo spot to the empty space on the right side. To embellish, I added Puffy Word Stickers tone-on-tone inside the letters and machine stitched them in place with matching colored Coats & Clark threads. Three hearts (two from the Cardstock Stickers and one from the Chipboard Stickers) decorate between the letters as well as a few tickets from the Ephemera Die Cuts. Fourth layout is a wrap!

For this 5th layout I busted out two butterfly punches and went to town making butterflies from the rainbow B-side of Paper 21. I arranged the butterflies onto the light orange ledger B-side of Paper 22 then machine stitched them in place down the centers. I bent up the wings to add dimension and then placed the two spots for photos. I embellished with a few more butterflies from the Cardstock Stickers and Chipboard Stickers and placed a few colorful dots from the Puffy Phrase Stickers on top.

For the 6th and final layout, I grabbed the barcode strips that I'd been saving and loosely placed them in a star shape across the blue B-side of Paper 4. I used three barcode strips for each length and then machine stitched them in place. I added the two photo spots on the right side and used the Foam Thickers to make the "superstar" title. A little cluster of Ephemera Die Cuts piled on the left side balances the photos on the right.

I had soooo much fun making these layouts and I hope whoever wins will enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them - scrapbooking is my favorite :)
