Explore Layout by Maija Männistö

Hi friends, Maija Männistö here to share a layout with Go the Scenic Route and Paige's Explore cut file. It is a much welcome trip down memory lane looking back at old vacation photos and looking forward to new trips to be made in the future!

I love the Explore cut file so much! I used several individual 12x12 papers to back the cut file and really make it fun and colorful. For the globe I used Paper 2 and Paper 20. I also fussy cut butterflies from the other side of Paper 2 and adhered them on the globe from just one side of the butterfly to make it more dimensional. For the letters I used Paper 2Paper 8, and Paper 16. To make the cut file pop from the white cardstock background I used Paige’s Doily Stencil and with pink ink I dabbed the shape onto the paper. I did this several times in a circle so it goes around the globe.

For embellishments I stuck to having just a few placed around the photo. I used the floral tag, pink mandala tag, and the sentiment strip from the Ephemera Die Cuts as well as the cute camera sticker from the Cardstock Stickers. To have the photo lift up a bit I placed two flowers from the Chipboard Stickers under the corners of the photo. Lastly, I decided the all-white background was too plain so I cut the white cardstock a bit smaller and placed it on Paper 20. A little tip for this: I cut away the center of the patterned paper, leaving a frame shape of about an inch each side. This way I still have the center of the paper to use for other projects! No paper wasted!

Thank you so much for stopping by today, have a lovely and crafty day!
