Hello friends, happy New Year's Eve! Kelly Daye wishing you sunshine and happiness in 2021 with a new layout for Paige’s Silhouette Cut File Design Team. You’ll no doubt agree, 2020 was rough and a year full of bumps and bruises. So I’ve gone ahead and sewn in a few patches, then brought out the pretty to ring in the New Year. I chose the Poinsettia Wreath cut file to do just that. I’ve cut it on my Cameo 3 from white cardstock and used Paige’s happy and colorful Go the Scenic Route collection throughout.
I love how the poinsettias turned out! The pink ones are painterly Paper 13, while the yellow ones are a combo Paper 14 and pretty pink Paper 12. The holly leaves are from Paper 5. I just cut a few squares out from around the maps because it was the perfect green. I used the navy side of Paper 12 for the berries. I think the dark color nicely anchors the whole wreath.
Once paper-backed, I sewed on three beads to the centre of each poinsettia to add that sparkle I love. Then I added foam tape to pop the wreath up off the background. Naturally, I dabbed on gold metallic paint and a few sequins (don’t I always, ha). Then, a few puffy dots, tone-on-tone, from the Puffy Phrase Stickers.
Finally, the finishing touches! Sunshine and Happiness plus the butterflies are all from the Chipboard Stickers. I’m so glad I bought two sets because they’re absolutely gorgeous! The year is made with the Foam Thickers. I made a wee flag to add on the photo. It and the blue frame are both cut out of Paper 1. The photo is of me in front of St Mary’s church in Bampton, UK. The village is located in the pretty Cotswolds and it’s where they filmed the weddings in the series Downton Abbey!
Ring those bells! Happy New Year to you all!
