Hello friends! Kelly Daye here with a colorful Christmas mini album for Paige’s Silhouette Design Team. I’m pretty sure I used bits of every collection Paige has ever done, ha! I’m gifting this to a sweet young friend, so color and fun was a must. I’ve mostly used Horizon, Go the Scenic Route, Turn the Page, Pick-Me-Up, and Bloom Street. Oh boy, my craft room was an epic disaster!
I envisioned a Christmas tree filled with memories and used Paige’s Christmas Tree cut file cut from white cardstock to make my covers. I traced a triangle around the cut file in Silhouette Studio and eliminated the square under the tree. I only included the star on the front cover so the album could open and close. Then, I spray-glued a plain triangle, then randomly sprinkled glitter all over it. This became my backing to the cut file. I think it looks so pretty, like a wacky mixed up rainbow!
Once the covers were done, I made holes for stitching and chain stitched a border around them with all 6 strands of DMC B5200 (it’s whiter than white) embroidery floss. You also might have noticed, there’s nothing else on the cover. I didn’t think it needed anything else and looked pretty as is. Do minis have to have a title? I think you can tell it’s about Christmas by the design :) The one adornment is a pretty Tassel from Bloom Streett. I tied all the pages together with organza ribbon from my stash with a simple granny knot.
Inside the front cover is Paper 11, a favorite from Go the Scenic Route. I used the bulbs cut out of the cover to embellish here. I colored them with Archival ink and strung them on some gold thread. The foiled phrase is from the Pick-Me-Up Chipboard Stickers.
The next page features a brand new Christmas cut file from Paige, the Season’s Greetings banner which can be found in THIS BUNDLE. The left page is Paper 24, the right page is Paper 8, both from Horizon. As are the Epoxy Stickers next to the photos. I used three of the snowflakes punched out of the covers to embellish, each topped with an Enamel Dot from Go the Scenic Route.
My little gal pal has four kitties and they’re a big part of the family. Naturally they needed a page all to themselves. Paper 19 on the left and Paper 5 both from Horizon are covered in paw prints (just like our hearts). They’re Paige’s Paw Print cut file. “HO HO HO” is spelt with Foam Mini Thickers from Paige's Whimsical collection. I’m so glad I bought three packs, they fit everywhere! Photos of Anna’s kitties are tucked in an envelope made with Paige’s Mini Envelope cut file.
The next page might be my favorite because I love the colors so much! The background left is Paper 8 from Turn the Page, on the right is Paper 2 from Horizon as are the Epoxy Stickers. The big quote is cut out of Paper 21 from Turn the Page. That’s Paige’s gorgeous Candy Cane cut file, it’s spearmint. I don’t know if there is such a thing but, ‘this ain’t no documentary”, ha!
Finally, it’s Elfie time! The last page features a fold out album of some of Earl's antics. He’s Anna’s Elf and really cracks me up some days. I sewed a photo sleeve out of a page protector. The ribbon, taped around back and tied up front, keeps Earl's Elfie’s all tucked away neatly. Not that he cares about being neat!
Opposite Earl is another new Christmas cut file by Paige, the Mug is filled with treats that Earl can’t seem to resist. It’s covered with a paper from the Turn the Page 6x8 Paper Pad (and still available, yay!). The Puffy Word Stickers from Bloom Street are saying, “Hey Earl”! The background papers are both from the Horizon collection, on the left is Paper 10 and on the back cover is Paper 15.
Ever so grateful you came by and hope you found some inspiration for your own pretty Christmas creations!
