The Perfect Day Layout by Brianna Lepper

Hey friends! Brianna Lepper here with another layout for Paige using her Go the Scenic Route collection. While browsing through Paige's cut files, I came across her Stacked Mugs cut file and was immediately inspired! I had the perfect photos to match these adorable mugs and this is what I came up with!

We love to travel and one of my favorite places to go while visiting Las Vegas (before they closed, insert major sad face here) was Serendipity! It's the cutest restaurant with the interior just doused in beautiful shades of pink. Not to mention how delicious their frozen hot chocolate is! And if you’re familiar with the movie Serendipity, it’s just as magical. Ok, onto my layout! I backed the Stacked Mugs cut file using the 6x8 Paper Pad as well as the pattern swatches from the 2x2 Paper Pads. For the whipped cream at the very top of the cut file, I used some shimmery paste to make it sparkle. It is so pretty up close and in person! I popped the whole thing up on foam tape and got to work on my background.

I wanted to do a mixed media background so I pulled out Paige’s Tile Stencil that she created exclusively for the Hip Kit Club a few years ago and I pushed some modeling paste through it. You can find Paige’s other Stencils HERE. After the paste was completely dry, I got out Shimmerz Paints from my stash and applied colors right on top of the paste. I love the texture and the bright and fun colors! I didn’t add gesso to my paper this time, I just let the water and inks do their thing.

Once my mixed media background was completely dry, I adhered the Stacked Mugs cut file down and started working on the rest of my page. I backed my photo using Paper 10 and a pink patterned paper from the 6x8 Paper Pad. I made sure to put the photo that was backed with the blue paper on the blue painted section and the pink one on the pink section. I love embellishing using the color blocking technique! I also added in one of the Puffy Word StickersEphemera Die Cuts, and a Cardstock Sticker to this cluster.

For my title, I chose one of the Puffy Phrase Stickers and adhered it down right on top of the cups. Look how cute these cups ended up being! I wish I had these in real life!

And that about wraps up my layout! I had so much fun creating it and I hope that I’ve inspired you in some way today. Have you created a mixed media background using a stencil, paste, and watercolors or paints? I hope that you’ll give it a try! Thank you again for being here and I’ll see you in my next post!
