Winter Card and Ornament by Anita Bownds

Hi there crafty friends, Anita Bownds here with you today sharing a card and ornament created with the Go the Scenic Route. I absolutely love creating Christmas crafts all the shine and glitter! For my first card I wanted to use Paige’s Snowflakes Background cut file as a stencil and foiled the background, because who doesn’t love a bit of shiny goodness?!

I machine stitched around the border and added it to a pink cardstock base. I cut the Mug cut file with my Cameo from white cardstock. Then I backed the little snowflake on the mug with Paper 10 and the main cup part with vellum and a pattern from the 6x8 Paper Pad. Then I finished backing the rest of the mug using paper from the 12x12 Paper PadPaper 1Paper 14, and Paper 16. To finish off the card I added an Enamel Dot in the middle of the snowflake and some glitter glue to the snowflake and gingerbread man.

And now the tree ornament shaker! I cut one of the Mittens, backed the poinsettia and thumb/wrist parts with Paper 16 and Paper 22, backed the rest with clear plastic, added vellum behind, then machine stitched around the edges leaving a little opening to pour in sequins and glitter.
Then I machine stitched it closed, added twine underneath a flower Chipboard Sticker in the center of the poinsettia, and added an Enamel Dot on the middle of the flower. I attached an eyelet to the top through which I tied string and a Charm to hang it on the Christmas tree.
I hope you have enjoyed my Christmas inspiration today! Happy crafting!
