Hey there! I have a new layout and process video to share with you today featuring folded paper heart flowers made with my new Wonders collection!
Here is the process video so you can see how this layout came together from start-to-finish:
To begin, I grabbed all of the mostly solid patterned papers in the 12x12 Paper Pad and the 6x8 Paper Pad and arranged them into rainbow order. Then I used a large heart punch and punched a heart from alllll the papers. Each flower uses 8 hearts and I made 7 flowers so I punched 56 hearts.
Then I folded all of the hearts in half. I used a 1 1/2" circle punch to make circles from scratch cardstock. Next I added liquid glue to the circles and placed the folded hearts on top as quickly as I could before the glue dried. If the glue did dry, I simply added a bit more.
To add another layer of interest and dimension, I repeated the whole process with a smaller heart punch: I punched 56 hearts from the rainbow of patterned papers, folded the hearts in half, punched 1" circles from scratch cardstock, and built the flowers. I layered the smaller flowers on the larger flowers, color-on-color, and attached them with a matching colored brad.
I placed the flowers across a light blue textured cardstock background and made stems from 1/4" patterned paper strips in the same rainbow order to "ground" the flowers. Next I tucked in a photo of Jane into the top most flowers and began embellishing with sentiments from the Ephemera Die Cuts. All of the sentiments I chose have flowers on them which go with the flower theme I created with the paper flowers.
I added a few stickers from the 8-Page Sticker Book and placed them into the rainbow mix. To finish I printed and trimmed journaling into strips, adhered the strips at the bottom with liquid glue, then stamped the date below with a blue ink to tie in that blue color.
I hope you are inspired to create some folded paper heart flowers! They are fun and addicting and look oh so pretty :) See you again soon, thanks for stopping by, and have a great upcoming week!
