Adorable You Page by Krystal Idunate

Hello friends! Krystal Idunate here today sharing a page I created using Paige's Recollections endcap with Memory Explosion Box supplies along with two of Paige's cut filesStripes Background and Adorable You. I love using cut files to help me tell longer stories and the Stripes Background cut file gave me the perfect opportunity to add lots of hand journaling.

I started by adjusting the size of the Stripes Background cut file in my Silhouette software to fit inside of my 6x8 album. Then I cut the file from the holographic polka dot paper found in the Memory Explosion Box 12x12" Paper Pad. Next, I opened up the Adorable You cut file in my Silhouette software and reduced the size of the file until it fit inside the middle box of the Stripes Background. I cut the title from the orange + holographic polka dot paper found in the 6x6" Paper Pad.

With the files cut and ready to back, I turned my attention to the background first. I cut out the striped pieces from the lower left box, the middle box, and the upper right box. I backed the middle box with plain white cardstock then used the rainbow ombre diagonal stripe paper found in the 12x12" Paper Pad to back the rest of the boxes with their stripes still intact. I chose the colors I felt went best with the photos of my son - yellows, blues, greens, and oranges. The final step for this background piece was to place the photos of my son in the bottom left and upper right boxes, using the cut file to create a frame around the photos.

Now it was time to get to work on the title piece. I chose the blue patterned paper with tiny holographic hearts from the 6x6" Paper Pad to back the Adorable You piece. To help create some extra dimension and interest, I added foam adhesive to help pop the title up on the page and framed the title with some remaining floral and leafy bits I had from the Horizon Floral Die Cuts. I finished off my embellishing by adding the “Document This” ticket shaped ephemera piece from the Travel Die Cuts to the top photo, and a portion of the “Hooray!” tag banner from the Birthday Die Cuts to the bottom photo. I love the way the photos + embellishments + title helps to draw your eye in a diagonal from the bottom left to the upper right. With my page almost done, it was time to add my story. I love adding LOTS of words onto a page to tell a story and the Stripes Background cut file was perfect for giving me the natural lines to add in my handwritten story about my son Jonah and all the ways in which he is adorable.

I am so happy with how this page came together and I hope it inspires you to look for ways in which cut files can help you document your stories as well! Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you have the loveliest of days!
