Welcome to this lovely crafty corner of the internet! Neftali Zambrano back with you today and I'm excited to share my first layout using Paige's brand new Wonders collection. I hope you’re ready, this new collection is beautiful and so fun to play with. It even goes well with some bits from Paige’s older collections. Today I am sharing how I created a blue monochromatic layout using a mix of the Wonders collection and a beautiful tiled Paper 21 from the Horizon collection.
I started off by working up my base. I used a blue mist spray to do a bit of mixed media on my background. I used the smoosh technique using a plastic wrapper and my mist. I love this technique for creating a lovely haphazard wash of color. I also used the new Acrylic Stamps to add some extra depth using the mandala stamp. I then brought out the beautiful tiled Paper 21 from the Horizon collection. I cut a few strips of the tiles to create a full border around the edge of my page.
Then I found Paige's Doily cut file. I got creative with it: first by using watercolors to give it a wash of blue and then I cut it into four pieces. I added each peace to the corner of my “frame”. Since I was working with blue, I decided to use two photos of my silly boy and myself. These were backed using Paper 15 from the Go the Scenic Route collection.
Once I had adhered these photos in the center of my page, I began adding embellishments from the Wonders collections. I used the Floral Die Cuts, Paper Flowers, Ephemera Die Cuts, and a few of the Puffy Stickers. I also added a few Nuvo drops in a lovely blue color to finish off my page. Lots of fun layers, and I was done!
And that, crafty friends, is how I created this awesome blue monochromatic layout! I love the tiled patterned paper, the blue watercolored doily, and the stunning new Wonders embellishments! I hope you guys are feeling inspired to create something like this layout using the brand new Wonders collection. Thanks for stopping by today!
