Beautiful Face Layout by Ashley Neu

Hi scrappy friends! Ashley Neu here back with a super fun layout! For this layout I used the Go the Scenic Route collection and Paige’s Beautiful Over Flowers cut file! I am documenting a photo of my youngest daughter after she had gotten her ears pierced for her 4th birthday. She had been begging to get them pierced before she was even 3 years old. She was such a trouper and didn’t even shed a tear!

To start off the layout, I used white cardstock and created some mixed media with watercolors. I stuck to the orange, dark yellow, and pink colors to match the colors in the patterned paper I was planning on using. I used liquid glue to adhere the floral portion of the cut file to my background.

Speaking of that patterned paper, I used Paper 24 to cut out the Beautiful Over Flowers cut file. I love the ombre effect in the paper and the way it stands out from the mixed media work. I kept the inner pieces from the word ‘beautiful’ to distress, add foam adhesive, and adhere back inside of the cut file. I also used a white gel pen to trace on the inside of the letters. This really helps the letters stand out! I used the leftover piece of the patterned paper to mat the background.

Lastly, I worked on finishing off the title. I used the Foam Thickers and a sticker from the cardstock stickers to create the title ‘Beautiful, Amazing Face’. I layered on a floral sticker and a cute butterfly that I had fussy cut from the 6x8 Paper Pad. I also added tone-on-tone tiny hearts from the Chipboard Stickers to help draw attention around the layout. Finally, I added more white gel pen over some of the leaves.

I appreciate you all stopping by Paige’s blog! I hope you enjoyed my new layout and have a wonderful day!
