Hello crafty friends! Amber Mitchell here on Paige's blog today to share with you this mini album that I created using a sheet of Floral Transparency and the Bungalow Lane collection.
To create the base of this mini album, I used a sheet of the Floral Transparency and trimmed it to measure 6 x 12 inches. I scored this sheet on the 12-inch side at 5 and 7 inches, creating a 2-inch spine. To create the pages of this book, I made 7 sheets of patterned paper that measure 5 3/4 x 9 3/4 inches. I scored all of these sheets on the 9 3/4-inch side at 4 3/4 and 5 inches. This gives each page a quarter-inch gusset.
To adhere the pages to the spine of my album, I used double-sided tape. I applied it along the gusset of each page and carefully added them, one by one, to the spine. Once all of the pages were attached, I matted the outside of the spine with a sheet of paper that measured 1 3/4 by 5 3/4 inch. This is a quick way to hide any imperfections that could show through the clear acetate.
To embellish the cover, I layered a strip of pink patterned paper and some flowers from the Floral Die Cuts pack. For even more fun, I used some of Paige's Rolled Flower Cut Files to dress up the spine. To create a title, I added a "Simple Things" sentiment from the Foam Phrase Stickers.
To create journaling spots throughout the album, I used tags, 3 x 4 cards, and 4 x 6 cards from the 12x12 Paper Pad. I added these randomly throughout the album using mini paper clips.
When it came to embellishing the rest of the album, I used a mix of products from Bungalow Lane including the 8-Page Sticker Book, Chipboard Stickers, Cardstock Stickers, Ephemera Die Cuts, and Layered Stickers.
This album was so much fun to make! I love how the gold accents in the Floral Transparency catch the light and how the acetate allows for a sneak peek of the album pages.
Thanks so much for stopping by my post today! I'll see you next time with another fun project!
