Embroidery Hoop Layout by Audrey Mutschall

Hi everyone! Audrey Mutschall here with a new layout! For this layout I used Paige’s Embroidery Hoop cut file and paired it with paper and embellishments from the Bungalow Lane collection.

There are lots of sewing related stickers, embellishments, and phrases in Bungalow Lane so it seemed like a natural choice. I used white cardstock for the cut file and also made a navy blue offset of the heart cross-stitch area to help it stand out against the floral background that I chose for inside the hoop. I also wanted to stitch on top of the white 'X's' of the cut file so I poked holes through both layers of cardstock and stitched across the 'X's' using four shades of coral/peach embroidery floss to create an ombré effect on the heart. I used Paper 19 for the background and applied a little gesso to give it a some variation in color. I cut a scalloped border at the bottom using Paige's Borders cut file and adhered a strip of Paper 10 underneath. I used an old photo of my mom and her sister embroidering together when they were young girls - it’s such a sweet photo and my mom was happy to have this memory documented! I mounted it on patterned paper and a tag and added a few sentiments from the Cardstock Stickers. I also added stitching to a couple of the large flowers from the Floral Die Cuts and added them near the bottom of the photo. Finally, I made a paper bow and added that, along with some sewing notions from the Chipboard Stickers. My title uses the Thickers from Bungalow Lane as well. I absolutely loved making this layout using a cut file I have admired for so long!
