The Patch Mini Album by Paige Evans

Here is a mini album I just finished featuring Bungalow Lane and my 20 Fall/Autumn Cut Files! I know we're now quickly approaching Spring (yay!) but it's never too late to document memories :)

Check out this video of me walking and talking through the album, or put me on mute and speed it up lol, I totally get it :)
To make the base I trimmed a piece of the Floral Transparency to 12 x 8 1/4", scored at 5 1/4" and 6 3/4" from the left side to create a 1 1/2" spine, and rounded the corners. I attached a Tim Holtz idea-ology ring binder with brads to the spine to complete the base of the album. And then it sat on my Project Cart like that for 4 months lol.
On the spine I super glued two flowers from the Layered Stickers to hide the brads that attach the binder mechanism and added a "ONE FINE DAY" Foam Phrase Sticker between to also hide the metal since the Floral Transparency is see-through. On the front cover I machine stitched through "THE PATCH" Thickers and added a banner Cardstock Sticker below to finish.
This entire mini album is from our visit to a pumpkin patch in Elizabeth last October - you'll see how it was meant to be, these photos paired with these Cut Files :)
With the base complete, I then got to work cutting out all of my 20 Fall/Autumn Cut Files from white cardstock to just under 8". I created the backing pieces in Silhouette Studio and then spent about a week backing all 20 of the cut files using patterned papers from Bungalow Lane. I cut more patterned papers to 8" square, attached the backed cut files on top, then trimmed the papers in half so every page is 4 x 8". I punched holes through every page and used a reinforce hole punch to surround the holes before attach the pages inside the album.
I figured out the order I wanted the pages and then glued the pages back-to-back. To help make turning every page easier, I die cut various tabs from Paper 20 and attached them to the edge of every page in different placements before machine stitching around every page for texture and to make sure the pages stay together permanently. Time for photos, embellishments, and journaling!
On the intro page, I embroidered through the leafy Paper 9. I used a combination of back stitches and chain stitches to create lots of texture and interest. I added a small cluster of stickers (banner and ric rac border Cardstock Stickers, a sentiment from the 8-Page Sticker Book, and a heart Embossed Puffy Sticker) to the center as an introduction.
Let's flip on through the entire album!
On the 1st spread I backed the Leaf from the 20 Fall Cut Files with Bungalow Lane papers, stitched around the right half, and wrote journaling on it with a black pen. The background is Paper 12 and I splashed watered down white acrylic paint and gold paint across the background. To embellish I added two trios of heart Cardstock Stickers.
This is the 3rd or 4th photo I took when we got to The Patch. Instantly I knew this mini album just had to be created. I mean, how perfect is this cut file with this real life sign?! Throughout the afternoon I kept finding more and more photo ops that perfectly coordinated with my already designed 20 Fall Cut Files. It was meant to be. Totally serendipitous. So on this 2nd spread I backed the Signage from the 20 Fall Cut Files with Bungalow Lane papers and placed it on the right side of background Paper 21. I added the 4" square photo on the left and then embellished with an orange Bird Paper Clip, three Stitched Leaves, a green leaf from the Floral Die Cuts, and a flower sticker from the 8-Page Sticker Book. To finish I journaled on a small, round, pink sticker also from the 8-Page Sticker Book.
For the 3rd spread I backed the Leaf Quilt from the 20 Fall Cut Files with Bungalow Lane papers and placed it on the center of background Paper 11. When I cut the background in half, I switched up the orientation and decided I liked the way this looked better than having the cut file centered, it's just more interesting this way! But totally a personal preference :) I added the 2x3" photo on the left and then embellished with vellum button stickers, a "yay" sentiment, and journaled on a label sticker, all from the 8-Page Sticker Book.
On the 4th spread I backed the Leaf Heart from the 20 Fall Cut Files with Bungalow Lane papers and placed it on the center of background Paper 5. I added a 3x4" photo on the bottom right and then splattered white acrylic paint and gold paint across the page. I embellished with three gold leaf stickers placed in a visual triangle, a gold "love" sticker, pink "love" label sticker, and journaled on a tab sticker - all of these stickers are from the 8-Page Sticker Book. I finished with a heart Embossed Puffy Sticker because for some reason I love this guy :)
On the 5th spread I backed the Photo Banner from the 20 Fall Cut Files with Bungalow Lane papers and placed it on the center of background Paper 14. I added a 6x4" photo across the center and then splattered white acrylic paint on top. I embellished with sentiments and a heart stamp from the Cardstock Stickers, a tab with a handwritten caption and additional sentiments from the 8-Page Sticker Book, and a sentiment from the Epoxy Stickers overlapping the photo. I placed patterned papers from the 2x2 Paper Pads in two of the frames and wrote journaling on top.
On the 6th spread I backed the Wreath from the 20 Fall Cut Files with Bungalow Lane papers and placed it on the center of background Paper 3. I tucked a 3x4" photo into the left side of the cut file and then splattered gold paint and Pastel Dreams watercolors on top. I embellished with button Embossed Puffy Stickers, button Cardstock Stickers, an apple (kinda looks like a pumpkin!) Epoxy Sticker, & gold leaves, tiny flowers, and a label with journaling all from the 8-Page Sticker Book.
On the 7th spread I backed the Fall title from the 20 Fall Cut Files with Bungalow Lane papers and placed it on the center of background Paper 19. I added an 8x4" photo across the middle. To embellish I trimmed a floral frame Chipboard Sticker into pieces to create a border and added it across the bottom of the photo. I journaled on a label from the 8-Page Sticker Book and added it on the bottom left of the picture. Above the journaling I added a yellow tree Chipboard Sticker and a red tree Epoxy Sticker. An "exploring" perforated sentiment from the Ephemera Die Cuts atop the left of the title finishes this spread.
On the 8th spread I backed the Leaf Background from the 20 Fall Cut Files with Bungalow Lane papers and placed it on the center of background Paper 8. I placed a 3x4" photo on the right side, tucked pieces of two different foiled tags from the Ephemera Die Cuts under opposite corners, and embellished with a banner from the Cardstock Stickers, a flower from the 8-Page Sticker Book, and a "sunshine & happiness" sentiment from the Ephemera Die Cuts trimmed in half and placed on opposite edges of the right page.
On the 9th spread I backed the Apple Bushel from the 20 Fall Cut Files with Bungalow Lane papers and placed it on the center of background Paper 24. I added (5) 2x2" photos across the page, tucked under and around the cut file, all about shooting apples from cannons! Seriously so much fun! Embellishments include a yellow Bird Paper Clip slid on an apple Ephemera Die Cut, three different colored apple Cardstock Stickers, and journaling inside one of the backed apples.
On the 10th spread I backed the Mushrooms from the 20 Fall Cut Files with Bungalow Lane papers and placed it on the center of background Paper 9. What do this 3x4" picture and mushrooms have to do with each other? Not much lol, but I don't mind! After adding the photo to the right side at an angle and tucked into the mushrooms, I embellished with a pink butterfly from the Floral Die Cuts, two butterflies from the Chipboard Stickers, and four stickers from the 8-Page Sticker Book: a "made me smile" pennant, a label with a caption written on it, a "thankful" sentiment next to the page turner, and a transparency flower sticker. To finish I splattered white acrylic paint and gold paint across the background.
On the 11th spread I backed the Tractor from the 20 Fall Cut Files with Bungalow Lane papers and placed it on the center of background Paper 18. I tucked a 4x3" photo into the bed of the truck and added a piece of a Chipboard Sticker frame as well as a transparency flower from the 8-Page Sticker Book above. I layered flowers and leaves from the Floral Die Cuts on the top corners and tucked a label sticker from the 8-Page Sticker Book into the left cluster. To finish I splattered white acrylic paint and gold paint across the top.
On the 12th spread I backed the Hexagon Wreath from the 20 Fall Cut Files with Bungalow Lane papers and placed it on the center of background Paper 16. I added two 3x4" photos onto the left side. I embellished with a small flower from the Floral Die Cuts, a tiny yellow butterfly and "happy" sentiment from the 8-Page Sticker Book, and a "wonderful" Chipboard Sticker. I wrote "love you" with a black pen and to finish I splattered white acrylic paint, gold paint, and Pastel Dreams watercolors across the page.
On the 13th spread I backed the Leaf Doily from the 20 Fall Cut Files with Bungalow Lane papers and placed it on the center of background Paper 17. I added a 3x4" photo on the bottom right side and embellished with three gold hearts, a gold "hello", a gold leaf, and a blue "happiness" sentiment sticker all from the 8-Page Sticker Book. Then I splattered white acrylic paint and gold paint in three clusters across the page.
On the 14th spread I backed the Borders from the 20 Fall Cut Files with Bungalow Lane papers and placed them all across background Paper 15, three at the top and one at the bottom, overlapping a 6x4" photo across the middle. I embellished simply with five sentiments from the 8-Page Sticker Book scattered around the spread.
On the 15th spread I backed the Fall Subway Art from the 20 Fall Cut Files with Bungalow Lane papers and adhered it to background Paper 21I embellished with a tree border from the Cardstock Stickers across the bottom and a sentiment from the 8-Page Sticker Book on the 3x5 1/2" photo tucked under the cut file on the right side.
On the 16th spread I backed the Truck with Pumpkins from the 20 Fall Cut Files with Bungalow Lane papers (to match the colors of the truck in the photo!) and placed it on the center of background Paper 2. I added a 4" square photo on the right side at an angle and trimmed off the excess. I embellished with two leaves and a "today" sentiment from the 8-Page Sticker Book, a banner from the Cardstock Stickers, journaling written on the top left corner, and a strip of Washi Tape placed below. I splattered white acrylic paint in three places to finish this spread.
On the 17th spread I backed the Sweater from the 20 Fall Cut Files with Bungalow Lane papers and placed it on the center of background Paper 6. When I cut the sweater in half, I switched up the orientation and decided I liked the way this looked better than having the cut file centered - again, totally a personal preference! I added 3x4" and 2" square photos on the right side, tucked under and on top of the cut file. The only embellishment I added was a sentiment from the Cardstock Stickers above the smaller picture.
On the 18th spread I backed the Leaf Wreath from the 20 Fall Cut Files with Bungalow Lane papers and placed it on the center of background Paper 7. Once again, when I cut the cut file in half, I switched up the orientation to have the halves of the wreath on opposite edges instead of centered. I added a 1 1/2x3" photo inside the wreath on the left and a 2x4" photo inside the wreath on the right. I embellished with transparency flower stickers from the 8-Page Sticker Book then sprinkled enamel dots between. I wrote journaling on a "thankful" Ephemera Die Cut and placed it on the bottom left side. To finish I splattered white acrylic paint, gold paint, and Pastel Dreams watercolors across the spread.
On the 19th spread I backed the Fall Is... from the 20 Fall Cut Files with Bungalow Lane papers and adhered it to background Paper 1. I tucked a 4x3" photo under the right side of the cut file then I embellished with three gold hearts and a "so happy" sticker all from the 8-Page Sticker Book.
On the 20th spread I backed half of the Tags from the 20 Fall Cut Files with Bungalow Lane papers and adhered them across background Paper 10. I added (3) 2" square photos across the spread and placed a tab sticker from the 8-Page Sticker Book on each photo. I wrote a caption on each tab and then finished with a transparency flower sticker and sentiment sticker, both from the 8-Page Sticker Book.
On the 21st and last spread, I backed the other half of the Tags from the 20 Fall Cut Files with Bungalow Lane papers and adhered them across background Paper 16. I added (3) 2" square photos across the spread and wrote a caption directly on the tops of the photos with a black pen. To finish I added a round, gold heart Chipboard Sticker and "good day" sentiment from the 8-Page Sticker Book.
On the back page I used another piece of the leafy Paper 9 only this time I didn't embroider it :) I embellished across it with stickers (leaf Chipboard Stickers, "one fine day", trees, and gold hearts Cardstock Stickersand a "made with love" Ephemera Die Cut. To finish I stamped the date of our visit to The Patch on the page turner tab with the Roller Stamp from my new Splendid collection.
All done! This album was fun to create from start-to-finish, a labor of love for sure, and I'm so happy with how it turned out!
Visiting the pumpkin patch and seeking out photo opportunities to pair with my 20 Fall/Autumn Cut Files was like a treasure hunt and made me giddy with every match! I'm so glad that this album is now in existence after envisioning it all those months ago :)
I hope this album inspires you to pick up my Bungalow Lane, my 20 Fall/Autumn Cut Files, and document your precious memories! Let me know if you have any questions, thank you so much for stopping by! Now onto the next project that I didn't get to last year: my October Mini Album for 2021, also known as an October Occasionally :)

  1. Game by for a close up view and to PIN :D I've commented a couple of times but I wanted to add, the tabs on the side are a fun and gorgeous element! I love how they're cascading down the edge in all the colours and patterns! A complete delight Paige! 😍💗
