Boy Cut File 7 of 30: Gone Fishing

Thursday, April 7, 2022

The 7th of the 30 Days of Boy Cut Files went out to those who purchased them and here are three layouts created with today's Gone Fishing Cut File!

For my page today I backed the Gone Fishing Cut File with papers from the Peaceful Heart collection by Jen Hadfield and added sticker embellishments from the same collection. We've actually never been officially fishing but Fox loves to catch minnows! Some white acrylic paint splatters and enamel dots mimic bubbles and enhance the 'water' theme.

Design Team Member Valerie Bisson created this nature-filled layout! She says, "I paired the Gone Fishing Cut File with the Bungalow Lane and Wonders collections. I started with a piece of white cardstock for the background and Distress Oxide inks watered down then applied with a plastic bag. For a little more texture I also applied the ink through Paige's polka dot stencil. Next I cut the cut file out twice, once from white cardstock and an offset layer from Wonders Paper 20, then backed it with various patterns and also popped up the letters. For added interest and fun I wrapped baker's twine around the fishing hook lines on the cut file. Then I finished by layering everything onto the page, photos, labels from Paper 23 for journaling, word phrases from the 8-Page Sticker Book, a bird Epoxy StickerLeaf Die CutsEmbossed Puffy Stickersenamel dots, clear nuvo drops, and a messy machine stitched border to complete the look."

Design Team Member Audrey Mutschall created this outdoorsy layout! She says, "I re-sized the cut file to fit on the top half of my layout and cut it out of white cardstock. I also cut an offset out of dark gray cardstock in order to help the cut file stand out from the background. I chose patterned papers from the Bungalow Lane 12x12 Paper Pad to back the cut file used foam tape to pop the letters up above the cut file. I placed the cut file onto a strip of woodgrain paper, added my photo, and embellished with a tag from the Ephemera Die Cuts and a Cardstock Sticker. For the background I splattered green, blue, and yellow watercolors onto white cardstock and covered this with a fishnet patterned cut file which I partially backed with Paper 3. I hope this layout inspires you!"
