Boy Cut File 9 of 30: Arrows

Saturday, April 9, 2022

The 9th of the 30 Days of Boy Cut Files went out to those who purchased them and here are three layouts created with today's Arrows Cut File!

For my page today I cut the Arrows Cut File from gray cardstock instead of the usual white. I used papers from my 2nd collection called Take Me Away to back the arrows. On a mint woodgrain paper background I added gesso as a foundation for mixed media. Once dry, I used the packaging technique to add Vintage Pastels watercolors on the background. Once that dried, I added photos of me'n'Fox and a few embellishments (all from Take Me Away) along with handwritten journaling to finish.

Design Team Member Jackie Ashton created this cute & colorful layout! She says, "For my page I used the Go the Scenic Route collection, the Arrows Cut File, and white cardstock. After backing the cut file with patterned paper, I added Distress Oxides to my background, pairing it up with the colors on the patterned paper. I added foam squares behind the cut file to give it some dimension. I finished my page with Puffy Phrase Stickers, fussy cut tickets from Paper 17, and Puffy Word Stickers."

Design Team Member Kelly Daye created this colorful & textured page! She says, "In these photos I’m looking up at the Eiffel Tower! My photos are 1.5” square so I could include five. The arrows are paper backed with rainbow colors from many of Paige’s past collections including Turn the PageWhimsicalHorizonGo the Scenic RouteTruly GratefulBloom Street, and Wonders. Each arrow was chain stitched with DMC embroidery floss. I used the Jordan Sketch Font in Silhouette to write my title in pencil, then using the same DMC colors I back stitched it, changing the color about every 1.5 letters!"
